YAN – The announcement on the appointment of new Cabinet Ministers will be made this week, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said, the announcement will be made after getting the consent from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah.

“Wait for the announcement of Cabinet this week. The suspense will be gone if I announce it today.

“I will submit the name list to get Agong’s consent before announcing the list. At the moment, there is no Cabinet list yet.

“Do not trust the Cabinet name list circulated in the social media. There is a new list every day and they are all fake,” he told the journalists today.

Earlier, Ismail Sabri visited the disaster sites in Titi Hayun, Yan and Merbok that are badly affected by the flood last Wednesday.

When asked to comment on the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister among politicians from Sarawak, he said that he would take all those into consideration before making any decision.

On the relevant development, Ismail Sabri said that there will be no unity government involving the opposition parties in his new Cabinet.

“We thank the response from the opposition in creating a special committee in handling Covid-19 and economy.

“We will have a discussion to form the special committee so that the opposition can share their opinion on Covid-19 and economy. This does not mean that they are in the Cabinet, or we would form a Unity Government,” said Ismail Sabri.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister offered a room to the opposition leaders to participate in the National Recovery Council (MPN) and the Special Committee in Managing Covid-19.

According to him, the offer is in line with the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong during the meeting with political party leaders recently that everyone needs to put aside differences for the welfare and wellbeing of the people. –MalaysiaGazette
