PUTRAJAYA – More relaxation of standard operating procedures (SOP), including interstate travel will be granted soon.

Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar verified the matter, stating that discussion on the relaxation of SOP is ongoing based on the current science facts and findings.

Besides that, the government is determined to increase vaccination rate in states that are still recording a coverage of below 60 percent such as Sabah, Kelantan, Kedah, Perak, Johor, Terengganu, Pahang and Penang.

“I have discussed about this (interstate travel and other relaxations) with the DG (Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah) and we have decided on a series of proposal.

“It will be presented to the National Security Council (MKN) soon. There is a hope (to travel interstate), all I ask is to be patient for a moment, just for a while.

“We all know that with interstate travel, we will invite risks, thus, give us some time.

“Some states have low vaccination threshold, therefore, in September, all states will reach complete adult vaccination dose of 60 percent,” he said during a news conference today. –MalaysiaGazette
