KUALA LUMPUR – 117 Covid-19 patients succumbed to the disease yesterday.

Based on the date provided by COVIDNOW, 16 were Brought In Dead (BID) cases, where the deceased passed away before they managed to get treatment at the hospital.

A cumulative of 26,876 Covid-19 deaths have been reported in the country.

Sarawak recorded the highest deaths with 21 cases, followed by Johor (19), Perak and Selangor that recorded 14 deaths each. Meanwhile, Kelantan and Sabah recorded 11 cases respectively.

Other states recorded less than 10 Covid-19 deaths. Kedah (8), Terengganu (5), Pahang (4), Kuala Lumpur (4), Melaka (2), Perlis (2), Negri Sembilan (1) and Penang (1).

Meanwhile, no death was reported in Labuan and Putrajaya.

At the same time, there are currently 135,945 active Covid-19 cases in the country, a drop of 23.1 percent compared to last week.

From the amount of active cases, 846 cases are admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while 441 required respiratory support. -MalaysiaGazette
