KUALA LUMPUR – The government is urged to revoke the approval for additional lottery special draws, that had increased from 8 to 22 times this year.

The Member of Parliament of Pasir Mas (PAS), Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said that it would not provide long-term benefit for the people.

He said, the government should not force the members of government, such as PAS to threaten the government that has a small majority.

“This gives a bad signal. How much money can be channeled into the Incorporate Funds that would invite unblessed money in the national expenses.

“I hope that you would not force us, the members of the government to threaten the small majority government,” said the Vice-Youth Chief of PAS at the Dewan Rakyat.

Earlier, Ahmad Fadhli requested the government to announce immediate allocation for tahfiz schools that are facing serious financial problems and the risk of closure due to the lack of funds.

According to him, many tahfiz schools are hurting and they cannot continue their operation due to the financial pressure caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thus, he urged the government to announce a one-off aid for the tahfiz schools. -MalaysiaGazette
