KUALA LUMPUR – National platform diver, Datuk Pandelela Rinong shared her experience of facing a former coach who loved to crack dirty jokes.

In a Twit, the athlete said that should keep mum of fake a laugh whenever that coach made a lewd joke as she was afraid of him.

Once, she had enough and she sounded the coach but she got bullied after that.

“Seven years later, he was involved in a rape case. #rapejokeisnotfunny,” Pandalela Twitted.

Continuing her thread, she shared that her darkest moment was that the coach would create problem every year throughout the seven years with the team. None of the athlete could do anything as that particular coach was protected by their own head coach.

“We are very lucky that we are being protected safely by our sport association, who cares for us. Happy ending,” she said.

The moral of the story, according to her, we need a good leader who can right what’s wrong instead of turning a blind eye to evil. She also advised those who have became victims to porn joke culture to speak up and unite against the it.

The dirty joke culture, including rape jokes became a heated discussion after actor, Fauzi Nawawi, discussed about the issue in a talk show as if, rape is entertainment for them.

Nevertheless, he apologised after actress Raja Farah and her husband slammed the actor over his action of bringing up the rape scene he had with Raja Farah. -MalaysiaGazette
