KUALA LUMPUR – The woman who drove recklessly while carrying three children who sat on the car’s windows with half of their bodies outside has been arrested by the police.

In its official Instagram account, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) said that the police acted on information from the viral video footage of the Perodua Alza and arrested the driver on 28 December.

The 14 seconds video footage of her reckless driving was recorded by a motorist, uploaded on the social media and went viral.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (Intelligence / Operations) had successfully tracked down the owner of the vehicle in Kajang, Selangor. They found that the three children in her car during the incident were her nieces who lived in Klang.

The reckless incident took place at Jalan Reko, Kajang on Christmas.

The woman was brought to the Kajang Traffic District Police Headquarters for further action. Investigation was conducted under Section 336 of the Penal Code (Act 574) for endangering the life or the personal safety of others.

The suspect was also investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for ill-treatment, neglect, abandonment or exposure of children. -MalaysiaGazette
