PUTRAJAYA – “Sajjad (Muhammad Sajjad) is still a man in Malaysia, according to the gender assigned in his identity card,” said the Deputy Minister at Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, commenting on reports that the controversial entrepreneur had successfully changed his gender in Australia.
According to Marzuk, the identity card is a valid document used in this country and it contains details on gender of its citizen.
“That is another country. In our country, he (Sajat) is still a man, as written on his identity card. That is what we use here.
“That document is valid and it determines his gender. We will not interfere with whichever country or universe he chooses to determine his gender,” he said today after the launch of a Lesbian and Gay Community Hijrah Manual published by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Yesterday, Nur Sajat, revealed that she has changed her gender to female legally in Australia in an Instagram Live video. She was thrilled as the gender change process in Australia was easy and she felt like she was reborn. -MalaysiaGazette
