GEORGE TOWN – The police are waiting for the investigation progress from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) before determining further action on the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, Datuk Rohana Rozhan.

The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director, Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said, the police would let the MACC determine the authenticity of the claims.

“At the moment, the police are not conducting any investigation and we will look into the possibility on what the MACC gets.

“If there are other evidence, we will investigate. At the moment, we leave it to the MACC,” he said.

Yesterday, the media reported that the MACC has recorded the statement from Rohana after her former lover, Tim Leissner, former banker from Goldman Sachs Group Inc said that Rohana blackmailed him into buying a US$10million (approximately RM41.8 million) home in London in exchange of not exposing his involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal. -MalaysiaGazette
