KUALA LUMPUR – The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributors who wish to make the one-off special withdrawal may do so via http://pengeluarankhas.kwsp.gov.my or the i-Akaun mobile application from 1 April 2022 onwards.
In a statement today, the EPF said that the payment will be made in one lump sum and will be credited into the savings or current accounts of its members.
It said, the members need to ensure that their bank account is active, and it is under their own name.
Joint-accounts or those registered under the company’s name would not be allowed. The members can check on their application status from 9 April 2022 onwards through http://pengeluarankhas.kwsp.gov.my.
The latest development on the special EPF withdrawal was announced by the EPF on 16 March, which allows the special one-off withdrawal for its members aged below 55 years old. Those who wish to apply for the withdrawal may do so from 1 April to 30 April 2022, meanwhile, the payment will be made from 20 April 2022 onwards.
The EPF also encouraged its members to check the balance of their savings through the i-Akaun (Members), i-Akaun mobile application or the EPF Kiosks.
Through the special withdrawal scheme, a contributor may withdraw up to a maximum of RM10,000 and a minimum of RM50.
Members also need to fully utilise their balance in Account 2 before accessing their funds in Account 2 and they also need to maintain a minimum of RM100 in their EPF account.
“The special withdrawal aims to help the members who are still affected by the pandemic to fulfil their current dire needs.
“The EPF also wishes to remind its members to consider about their guaranteed income in the future and only make the withdrawal if they truly needed it.
“The members may meet the Advisors at the EPF branches nationwide to get free advice on their EPF savings,” it said.
Further information on the special withdrawal facility could be obtained from Ask ELYA at the EPF’s website, www.kwsp.gov.my, the EPF’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, or contact the Special Withdrawal Hotline at 03-8922 4848 from 1 April 2022. -MalaysiaGazette
