KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Najib Razak said that the best time for the government to allow the final Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal of RM10,000 is before the Ramadan month.

Meanwhile, the EPF had finished paying the dividend distribution for 2021.

The former Prime Minister also hoped that the government would consider the four measures suggested earlier to reinstate the low EPF balance in the accounts of those affected by Covid-19.

The measures are, restructuring the EPF dividend rate, increase the contribution rate again, reinstate the Kuala-Lumpur High Speed Rail (HSR) project and to grant the Bandar Malaysia project to the EPF and Permodalan Nasional Berhad. Besides the Bandar Malaysia project, the government should also ward several other government projects to the EPF and subsidiaries of the retirement fund. -MalaysiaGazette
