KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) warned motorists to park at designated parking space or area while shopping in the city.

“Do not leave your vehicles wherever you like. Park at the right location. Otherwise, enforcement action will be taken against you, including towing your vehicle away,” DBKL reminded the city dwellers in its Facebook post.

The reminder was issued after many people park their vehicles along the roadside, causing traffic congestion and problems to other motorists.

As the Aidilfitri is approaching, several hot spots at Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Bukit Bintang continued to become the focus of shoppers prepping for the festive season.

“Rules need to be observed despite the festive season. You may feel that it is convenient and easy to park along the roadside but you have forgotten that you are creating inconvenience to other people,” DBKL added, stating that the presence of its enforcers around the shopping centres was not to make things difficult for the public.

As motorists, the people need to understand and help each other in overcoming traffic congestion.

“Remember, the festive season would come but do not neglect the rules,” it said. -MalaysiaGazette
