The man who hit his pregnant wife until she fell into coma at their house in Larkin, Johor was charged at the Magistrate Court this morning.

JOHOR BAHRU – The man who hit his pregnant wife until she fell into coma at their house in Larkin, Johor was charged at the Magistrate Court this morning.

The accused arrived at the court at around 9.00 am in a grey hoodie sweater.

The 38-year-old man was arrested by the police on 12 June after he was hunted for almost a month.

He was suspected to have assaulted his wife and caused serious injuries in her head, skull, jaw, spine and broke her ribs on 4 May.

The police then distributed his picture and personal information to seek public’s information on the suspect.

 

The victim was a civil servant of a government’s department in Johor and she was admitted into the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (HTJ) in Seremban after receiving early treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru.

The woman was allowed to go home to her family in Sungai Udang, Melaka on 30 May after receiving treatment at the hospitals for 27 days.

The case is investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm. –MalaysiaGazette
