KUALA LUMPUR – The never ending Movement Control Order has caused many people to suffer from a mental state called, the quarantine fatigue.

He said, among the signs of quarantine fatigue is anxiety without cause, easily irritable, muscle tension and insomnia.

He said, the signs of fatigue has been detected since the Movement Control Order (MCO) 1.0 when the people showed their fatigue by presenting various requests to the government.

“Some got bored for staying at home over an excessively long period and, to release their tension and boredom, they were willing to challenge the law, some also took it upon the authorities,” he told China Press.

According to Kok Fye, the fear and helplessness also increased along with the increment of the movement control period.

“The start to worry about this and that, worry if they have enough information about the outbreak, worry about the economic situation and such.

“Some also started to put label on Covid-19 patients and wanted to avoid from meeting the former patient,” he said.

To reduce the effects of quarantine fatigue, Kok Fye said that the people need to practice good sleep and eating habits.
