KUALA LUMPUR – Former Attorney-General, Tan Sri Tommy Thomas has been criticised by the Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (ACAB)  yesterday.

The board alleged that Tommy was unprofessional, not transparent and was driven by political interest during his service, said former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“That is why, almost 100 percent of the forfeiture cases during Tommy’s reign challenged by the respondents have lost in the court.

“Usually, the Attorney-General (AG) would only prosecute if they have 90 percent of winning chance – not almost 100% of chance to lose,” Najib said in his social media post today.

According to him, based on the factor, a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) should be carried out on the revelation by Tommy in his own book which depicted power abuse and political meddling.

In his note, Najib said that the independent MACC whistle blower was set up during his administration and did not exist when Tommy was the AG after it was dissolved during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) era despite it is permitted under Section 13 of the MACC Act 2009 (Act 694).

“Therefore, the cases dropped during PH era was never brought to be monitored by the board,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
