KUALA LUMPUR – The sales of bus and flight tickets under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) initiative between Malaysia and Singapore will be suspended from 23 December until 20 January.

The decision was made following the latest development in Singapore after the republic detected two Omicron cases in its local cluster which consisted of three Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, the test results for other cases are still pending.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said in a statement that the three cases did not have any travel history to other countries.

However, travellers who have bought the land and air VTL tickets earlier and fulfil all requirements may continue their journey under the VTL initiative.

“The sales of bus and flight tickets for the two VTL initiatives will be reopened on 21 January 2022 after the risk assessment is made, based on the current Covid-19 situation in the two countries.

“Nevertheless, the ticket quota will be reduced from the existing quota,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
