SEGAMAT – A man almost lost his life after he was washed away by the swift current at Bukit Sengit Pogoh here at about 7.58 am this morning.
The victim, Nor Ibrahim Ariffin, 37, was riding his Yamaha RXZ motorcycle and trying to cross a flooded road with rapid current.
The victim managed to grab on to a tree during the dangerous encounter before he was rescued by the Segamat Fire and Rescue Department and the public.
The Operations Commander from the Bandar Baru Segamat Fire and Rescue Station, Kenny Ismol Abd Rahman said that six rescuers were rushed to the scene after they received the distress call.
“The firefighters rescued the victim using safety ropes and brought the victim to safety,” he said in a statement today. -MalaysiaGazette
