KUALA LUMPUR – 70 new Covid-19 deaths were reported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) as of last midnight. From that amount, 19 deaths were Brought in Dead (BID).

Based on the figure in COVIDNOW, the new deaths brought the Covid-19 death toll in Malaysia to 33,597 cases.

Perak recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths yesterday with 20 cases, followed by Selangor (11); Johor (10); Kelantan (9); Kedah (7); Negeri Sembilan and Sabah (4 cases each); Pahang (3) and one case each in Perlis and Terengganu.

Meanwhile, no death was report in Melaka, Penang, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

There were 314,420 active cases reported in the country with 302,242 patients or 96.1 percent undergoing home quarantine and 3,039 individuals were isolated at the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).

MOH also said that 389 Covid-19 patients were being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 229 required respiratory support. -MalaysiaGazette
