KUALA LUMPUR – 12 new Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday, including eight cases of Brought-in-Dead (BID).

The addition shifted the Covid-19 death toll to 35,421 cases.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said, Kedah recorded four deaths, Penang (3), Sarawak (2), meanwhile, Melaka, Perak and Selangor recorded one Covid-19 death each.

As of last midnight, there were 103,900 active cases in the country.

From that amount, 2,124 were being treated in the hospitals, including 126 at the intensive care unit (ICU).

76 cases or 0.1% required respiratory support.

11,233 Covid-19 patients recovered from the disease yesterday (17 April).

Malaysia recorded a cumulative of 4,352,542 Covid-19 cases as of yesterday. -MalaysiaGazette
