KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 6,069 new Covid-19 infections yesterday with 5,959 local and 110 imported cases.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said, 12 deaths were recorded within the same period, including one Brought-In-Dead (BID).

The addition shifted the pandemic death toll to 35,449 cases.

Perak recorded five Covid-19 deaths while Johor recorded three cases. Meanwhile, Kedah, Melaka, Pahang and Putrajaya recorded one case each.

According the MOH, there were 4,562 active cases and 1,988 were being treated in the hospitals as of last midnight.

97 cases were under treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 64 required respiratory support.

The cumulative Covid-19 cases in the country has hit 4,402,234 cases. – MalaysiaGazette
