PUTRAJAYA – Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been appointed as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) succeeding Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador with effect from next Tuesday.

The appointment is made after the contract of Abdul Hamid, 62, ends this Monday.

Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin presented Acryl Sani with his letter of appointment today as the 13th IGP of Malaysia today.

Born in Petaling Jaya, Acry Sani has a Master in Science (Management) from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He joined the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on 2 February 1986 as an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Cadet.

He has helmed various posts in PDRM over the years such as the Bukit Aman Director of Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA), Sarawak Commissioner of Police, Director of Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) and the Director of Strategic Resources and Technology Department (StaRT). –MalaysiaGazette
