KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan is reported to be in a stable condition after a heart surgery at the IHEAL Medical Centre.

The Minister at Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Parliament) was admitted into the hospital last Friday and had a three-hour angioplasty surgery.

His health condition also caught the attention of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who prayed for his speedy recovery.

“Secretary-General of PAS, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan is in the hospital for medical treatment.

“Let’s pray for his speedy recovery,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The Kota Bharu Member of Parliament is reported to be in a stable condition and he is expected to be discharged tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Deputy President of PAS, Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man expressed his gratitude that Takiyuddin is safe after stents were inserted into his clogged arteries.

“I just contacted Takiyuddin this morning. Alhamdullilah he is safe after the health assessment and the doctor has inserted stents into his clogged vessels.

“Alhamdullilah, everything went smoothly and he is expected to discharge in a day or two. Continue to pray for his speedy recovery,” he said in a Facebook post.

Takiyuddin has been the target of the opposition Members of Parliament during the special Parliament sitting which started from 26 until 29 July. He has been pressed to resign for confusing the Dewan Rakyat and the people with his statement on the revocation of the Emergency Ordinance.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting last Friday (30 July) also turned chaotic after the Opposition Chief, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim raised questions about the statement from Istana Negara about the revocation of the Proclamation of Emergency and the Emergency Ordinances.

According to Anwar, the government has clearly violated the principles of Constitution and is disrespectful to the monarchy institution after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong expressed his utmost disappointment with Takiyuddin’s statement at the Parliament.

He said, Takiyuddin’s statement on the revocation of Emergency Ordinance last Monday (26 July) has confused the Dewan Rakyat and violated the Standing Order 36(12).

Takiyuddin was scheduled to deliver his explanation on the revocation of Emergency Ordinances today (2 August). –MalaysiaGazette
