KUALA LUMPUR – The residence of Caretaker Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at Jalan Setia Bakti, Bukit Damansara continued to be the focus when several vehicles chauffeuring Members of Parliament (MP) were seen entering his house since yesterday afternoon.
A vehicle chauffeuring the Secretary-General of Bersatu, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin was seen entering Muhyiddin’s house at 1.20 pm today.
It was then followed by the former Minister of Federal Territories, Tan Sri Annuar Musa at 1.53 pm.
The meeting between the Pagoh MP cum former Prime Minister with Hamzah and Annuar is believed to be closely related to the nomination of UMNO’s Vice-President, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the 9th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The 220 MPs are given until 4.00 pm today to submit their statutory declaration (SD) on their PM candidate to Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Yesterday, two MPs from Barisan Nasional (BN) verified that the party has agreed in supporting Ismail Sabri as their sole candidate for PM post.
The Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman and Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said that 42 MPs from BN have agreed to nominate Ismail Sabri and they will present his name to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong before 4.00 pm today. –MalaysiaGazette
