KUALA LUMPUR – The 31 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Barisan Nasional (BN) has took their stand to continue supporting the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the 21 MPs who are present at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Auditorium today honour the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that the PN government should remain until a Motion of Confidence on Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is made in September.

“We the Members of Parliament appreciate and honour the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who has given his consent for the PN government to continue to rule and its legitimacy will be proved in the Parliament.

“Yang di-Pertuan Agong has also agreed and granted his consent for a motion of confidence on the Prime Minister to be presented at the Parliament,” he said in a news conference today.

The news conference was a response after the meeting of UMNO and BN MPs following the decision by the UMNO Supreme Council that wanted to pull out from the PN government and urged Muhyiddin to resign as communicated by its President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi recently. – MalaysiaGazette
