KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Finance will facilitate the distribution of Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC), especially for the people in rural areas by giving cash payment to those without banking accounts.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob shared the news after virtually monitoring the BKC Phase 1 payment that is made in stages through selected financial institutions.

“I hope that this aid would somehow lighten the burdens of Keluarga Malaysia who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I took the opportunity to greet the BKC recipients at several Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches including Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perlis and Johor virtually to ensure the smooth process of the payment,” he said through a Facebook post.

He also obtained a live report from Finance Minister Tengku Dato’ Sri Utama Zafrul Tengku Aziz, who was on the field to monitor the payment process at BSN Putrajaya, meanwhile, his Deputy, Mohd Shahar Abdullah was at BSN in Triang, Pahang.

Yesterday, Ismail Sabri announced that the RM3.1 billion have been channelled to financial institutions involved with BKC Phase 1 payment.
