KUALA LUMPUR – Good news on the reopening of gymnasiums and field sports will be announced soon.

Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said that the matter has been discussed and decided during the Covid-19 National Security Council (MKN) meeting today.

The request of @PejaOfPerak for outdoor team sports is reasonable. The KBS minister is truly concerned about the sports sector.

“We have discussed and decided during the MKN Covid-19 meeting. Good news will be announced,” he Twitted.

Earlier this morning, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmad Faizal Azumu requested the Ministry of Health (MOH) and MKN to consider the reopening of gyms and allowing field sports.

His request came after the MKN permitted the reopening of cinemas and creative industry under strict standard operating procedures (SOP).

Elaborating further, Khairy said that  @KKMPutrajaya and MKN will provide the ventilation guideline.

“This would not take a long time but due to the activities in the fitness centre, we must emphasize on ventilation. Preparing it now,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
