KUALA LUMPUR – The police once again, requested the witnesses and victims of sexual harassment case involving Independent Islamic Preacher, Ebit Lew to come forward to assist in the investigation.

The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director, Datuk Seri Abd. Jalil Hassan said that the action is needed to allow the police to record statements from the victims and witnesses of the case.

He welcomed the cooperation from anyone, witnesses or victims and hoped that they will come forward immediately to complete the investigation on the renowned preacher.

“PDRM would like to advise all victims and witnesses who may be affected to immediately come forward to and help us with the investigation.

“At the moment, several witnesses have cooperated by recording their statements on the case.

“Thus, PDRM hopes that they, who are out there, would come and cooperate to help us continue the investigation,” he said when contacted today.

Earlier, Bukit Aman said that it is still investigating the lewd videos and messages that went viral in the Telegram involving another preacher.

Last Thursday, Bukit Aman verified that it has opened an investigation on the viral lewd video and messages.

On 1 October, Abd Jalil also verified that Ebit, or his real name, Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew and his wife had recorded their statement at Bukit Aman to assist in the investigation.

On a relevant development, he advised the public not to issue any statement or spread any form of materials in any platform to avoid speculations which could affect the police’s investigation. -MalaysiaGazette
