KUALA LUMPUR – 17 new Covid-19 deaths were recorded yesterday (12 December) and three of the cases were brought in dead (BID).

With the new deaths, the Covid-19 death toll in Malaysia has increased to 30,879 cases.

Terengganu recorded the greatest number of Covid-19 deaths yesterday with 4 cases, followed by Kelantan with three cases.

Kedah, Perak, Perlis and Pulau Pinang recorded two Covid-19 deaths each. Manwhile, Melaka and Sabah recorded one case respectively.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), no Covid-19 death was reported in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, Selangor and Labuan.

565 individuals have succumbed to Covid-19 in December to date.

MOH said, there were 58,852 active cases in the country as of 12.00 midnight. 407 of the cases were admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU) while 216 required respiratory support. -MalaysiaGazette
