KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that 28,287 flood victims have received the Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) cash aid to date.

“As at 12.00 pm today, 29,297 flood victims have received the Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI).

“Those who have not registered or received this benefit may contact their district officer for the immediate assistance given by the government,” he Twitted.

Yesterday, Ismail Sabri said that the BWI given to the flood victims this round is the fastest in national history.

The government has made the payout to the victims within 10 days after the flood in several states such as Melaka.

The government announced Bantuan Banjir Keluarga Malaysia flood assistance last week with five cash incentives amounting to RM10,000 for each head of household. Individuals whose house were damaged in the floods may receive the incentive of up to RM61,000. -MalaysiaGazette
