KUALA LUMPUR – 27 Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday (11 January) in the country, shifting the death toll of the outbreak to 31,723 cases.

Based on the data on COVIDNOW uploaded by the Ministry of Health (MOH), nine of the deaths were brought-in dead (BID).

Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths with nine cases, followed by Johor and Terengganu with four cases each.

Sabah and Kuala Lumpur recorded three deaths respectively, meanwhile, Melaka, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang recorded one case each.

No death was reported in Putrajaya, Kedah, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sarawak and Labuan.

A total of 525 Covid-19 deaths have been recorded this year, to date.

As of yesterday, there were 39,913 active Covid-19 cases in the country. From that amount, 229 cases were admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 99 of the cases required respiratory support. -MalaysiaGazette
