KUALA LUMPUR – The Member of Parliament (MP) of Pasir Salak regretted the statement of the Deputy President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who pressured the Prime Minister into holding the 15th General Election (GE15) as soon as possible.

Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said that the statement was as if giving an ultimatum to Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to give in to the party’s demand.

“This is the leader from my own party (UMNO) who issued statement which seemingly pressuring the Prime Minister.

“He also gave an ultimatum, if the Prime Minister fails to convince the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Prime Minister should resign. What kind of statement is this?

“This statement is seemingly trying to pressure the Prime Minister. I feel sorry because it came from a huge leader from my own party,” he said during the Parliament sitting today.

Recently, Mohamad who is also fondly known as Tok Mad requested the Prime Minister to consider holding GE15 as soon as possible, by considering the people’s current sentiment which favours Barisan Nasional (BN).

According to Mohamad, he told Ismail Sabri about it right after BN won the Melaka state election.

Tajuddin, who is also the Supreme Council Member of UMNO said that such pressure could affect and threaten the stability of the government and the Prime Minister’s effort in working for the interests of the people.

“Enough. Stop. I’m sorry. I am just a small member of the party. I had to voice this out in the Dewan Rakyat,” he said.

He also slammed the MP of Pekan, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who continuously forces the government to allow the i-Citra withdrawal from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

“Just now, Pekan voiced out about i-Citra. I do not agree with what Najib said. The Prime Minister has made a statement. The government and the Cabinet had decided. Respect it.

“Pekan should respect the decision of the Prime Minister who did not agree with the withdrawal and it was not for his personal interest. The government cares for the future of the people,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
