KUALA LUMPUR – The new Covid-19 infection cases in the country rose to 30,787 cases yesterday, a slight increment from the 30,246 cases on 9 March.
Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, from that amount, 10,921 cases were Category 1, 19,642 cases were Category 2, 93 Category 3 cases, 74 Category 4 cases and 57 Category 5 cases.
608 cases were imported involving 564 citizens and 44 non-citizens.
“There were 26,457 recoveries and 389 cases required ICU treatment. Those who required respiratory support, 229 cases,” he said.
According to him, 224 Covid-19 cases under Category 3, 4 and 5 reported yesterday consisted of 58 unvaccinated or partially vaccinated cases, meanwhile, 94 cases had received two doses of vaccine but they were not boosted.
2,048 Covid-19 cases were admitted into the hospital yesterday involving 771 cases of Category 3, 4 and 5. Meanwhile, 1,277 cases under Category 1 and 2 were also admitted into the hospital.
At the same time, a total of 6,869 Covid-19 clusters have been reported in the country today. There were 4 new clusters and 419 active clusters. Meanwhile, 6,450 clusters have ended. -MalaysiaGazette
