KUALA LUMPUR – 87 Covid-19 deaths were recorded as of last midnight (14 March) and 25 cases were brought-in dead (BID).

The addition increased the pandemic death toll in Malaysia to 33,807 cases.

Johor recorded the highest number of deaths with 22 cases followed by Selangor (18) and Perak (10).

Penang and Kuala Lumpur recorded six cases each, Pahang (5), Kedah and Kelantan recorded four cases each.

Meanwhile, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu recorded three cases each, 2 cases were reported in Sarawak and one Covid-19 death was reported in Sabah.

Ministry of Health (MOH) said, there were 320,876 active cases in the country within the same period.

From that amount, 8,704 Covid-19 patients have been admitted into the hospital. 384 were placed at the intensive care unit and 222 cases required respiratory support.

309,214 individuals were under home quarantine and 2,574 were admitted into the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).

22,174 new Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday and the cumulative cases in the country as of last midnight was 3,795,490 cases. -MalaysiaGazette
