KUALA LUMPUR – The poverty of a boy who has to work to put food on the table received the attention of preacher, Ebit Lew.

Through a TikTok video, Ebit shared that he took a flight to Kelantan and met the teenager, Akid today.

“Akid, don’t cry anymore. We’ll build a new house today,” Ebit wrote in the caption of the TikTok video today.

In that 1-minute video clip, the teenager was sobbing as he hugged the preacher tight.

Ebit was seen trying to calm Akid down by stroking his hair and consoling him.

Akid then brought Ebit into his shabby house. A part of the wall in his house has fallen and some parts of the house had no roof.

On his Facebook, Ebit said that he arrived at Kota Bharu at 7.30 am this morning. He also promised to build a new house for Akid and his family.

“We will be building a new house for Akid and we buy everything for the new house. We bought and paid for the materials to build the house in two hours.

“I never thought that Ustaz would come to my house. I love Ustaz. Always help people. I want to help people just like ustaz.

“I am just a normal person. You are a good person. Allah love you. Many people care about you. Everyone loves you,” said Ebit.

Akid raked a lot of sympathy after a Non-Government Organisation, MyFundAction shared a video of his suffering and the teenager had no idea why the community hated him for working to get several ringgit to buy food.

In that video, Akid was crying due to the mockery thrown against him as he wanted to work, including washing toilet for surau.

“My mother, father cannot afford to buy a big house. We need to find our own money to eat. Wash, vacuum and wash the toilet of surau.

“Sometimes, I get RM6. I buy onion, flour to eat.

“Some people say that we are hungry for charity. Take other people’s money. I never took money. People hate me. I don’t know why they hate me,” said Akid in that video, sobbing. – MalaysiaGazette
