KUALA LUMPUR – The candidate for the Vice-President of PKR, Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid said that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim truly deserves to lead the party for the second time.

According to the Member of Parliament (MP) of Kapar, PKR still needs Anwar as its President in facing the 15th General Election (GE15) soon.

“Nobody dares to challenge (Anwar Ibrahim). The party still needs the leadership of the founder of Reformation itself.

“Welcome back to serve, Mr President,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, MalaysiaGazette reported that Anwar won the President’s post uncontested after the due date for PKR election nomination ended at 11.59 pm last night.

It also repeated the history of PKR Election 2018, when the opposition chief won uncontested.

Meanwhile, 18 candidates will be fighting for the Vice-President’s post after the last candidate, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin sent in his nomination at 11.46 pm last night.

Besides Abdullah Sani, other candidates who confirmed their contest for the Vice-President’s post include the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari; Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun; former PKR Women’s Chief, Fuziah Salleh; former Perak PKR Chief, Farhash Wafa Salvador; and the Communications Director of PKR, Fahmi Fadzil.

Besides them the other candidates include the Member of Parliament (MP) of Tanjong Malim, Chah Lih Kang; Alor Setar MP, Chan Ming Kai; Hutan Melintang State Assemblyman, G Manivannan; Setiawangsa MP, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; former Perak PRK Deputy Chairman, M A Tinagaran, Sentosa State Assemblyman, G Gunarajah; former Indera Mahkota MP, Azan Ismail; former Vice-President of PKR, Mustaffa Kamil Ayub; former Vice-Youth Chief of PKR, S Thiban; Chuah State Assemblyman, Yek Diew Ching and Bukit Selambau State Assemblyman, R Summugam.

The PKR Election for the term 2022/2025 will be held from 13 until 18 May. -MalaysiaGazette
