KUALA LUMPUR – The driver of Perodua Bezza who drove against traffic and hit two motorcyclists on the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) was drunk.

The man had also slapped and ‘attacked’ the resident of a house at Taman Rambai Indah, Jenjarom before the hit and run incidents.

The Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said that the drunk driver suddenly attacked a 57-year-old man at his house.

According to him, the incident happened when the driver was making a lot of noise and said offensive words in front of the victim’s house.

Ahmad Ridhwan said, the Perodua Bezza driver then slapped the victim’s son.

“The complainant and the suspect quarreled, and during the dispute, the suspect slapped the complaint’s son once with his hand,” he said in a statement today.

Following that, the victim suffered an estimated loss of RM1,800 due to the damages on his gate.

Earlier, he verified that the arrest of the driver who went viral in the social media for driving against traffic and hit two motorcyclists at KM30.1 of the SKVE heading towards Bandar Saujana Putra from Telok Panglima Garang.

Meanwhile, he added, the man was arrested under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

Meanwhile, the driver is also being investigated for criminal offences under Section 427, 448 and 323 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act. -MalaysiaGazette
