PETALING JAYA – Alternative rock band singer, Radhi OAG pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate Court to injuring his ex-wife at his Kota Damansara house last Tuesday.

The accused, Mohd Radhi Razali, made the plea after the charges were read to him before Magistrate Muhammad Iskandar Zainol.

According to the charge paper, Radhi, on 19 April, at his house in Kota Damansara, 2.29pm had intentionally caused hurt to his ex-wife, Nur Shaira Ayu Zahiri. The charge was frame under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which provides the maximum sentence of one year or RM2,000 fine or both.

Radhi was escorted to the Petaling Jaya Court Complex at around 8.53 am in police van. He was wearing a dark blue kurta.

Meanwhile, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Mohamed Wafi Hussain offered RM7,000 with addition condition that the accused cannot disturb his ex-wife.

However, his defence counsel, Haziq Aizuddin Subhi requested the court to reduce the bail as he needs to support his children.

“If the value is set too high, it would be difficult for my client to take care of his young children. The custodian right was awarded to the accused. In addition, the accused does not have a fixed income. It depends on the situation (job offer),” he said.

After considering the arguments, Magistrate Muhammad Iskandar allowed bail at RM2,500 with a surety and the additional condition that he cannot disturb the complainant.

The court fixed 13 July 2022 for the mention and case management.

Earlier, the Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that the incident happened when the victim wanted to pick up their son from the suspect at his carpark.

There was a misunderstanding between them after the victim refused to take a picture with the accused.

The police arrested him and urine test found that he was negative.

Radhi and Nur Shahira Ayu divorced on 16 July 2019 after they got married on 14 April 2014. -MalaysiaGazette
