KUALA LUMPUR – There is only one week left to the debate between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Najib Razak that is scheduled on 12 May. However, as of today, the location of the debate has yet to be finalised.
The University of Malaya did not grant its approval for the debate to be held at Dewan Tunku Cancelor, the proposed venue for the debate.
Currently, both parties are looking for a suitable venue for the debate.
The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Communications Director, Fahmi Fadzil who represents Anwar suggested for the debate to be held at Dewan Sivik MBPJ, meanwhile, Najib proposed for the debate to be carried out at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) in Kuala Lumpur.
The two political figures will be debating about the issues surrounding Sapura Energy Berhad and the Future of Malaysia in that debate.
The debate is sparked by the Skop MG programme with Rafizi Ramli on 1 April, on his readiness to debate with Najib on Sapura.
Najib accepted the challenge through a Facebook post and suggested for Anwar to debate with him too. In a separate post, Anwar accepted the invitation, stating that he has been waiting for this opportunity for the past 10 years.
The Editor of MalaysiaGazette, Haslina AR Kamaludin has been chosen as the moderator of this debate.
The debate will be aired live in all MalaysiaGazette’s digital platform such as it’s official Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and news portal https://malaysiagazette.com/. – MalaysiaGazette
