KUALA LUMPUR – The number of Covid-19 deaths had reduced to 82 cases compared to 87 deaths yesterday.

According to the Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths with 23 cases.

Besides Selangor, 17 deaths were recorded in Johor, 11 in Negeri Sembilan, 8 in Kuala Lumpur, 5 in Kedah, 4 each in Sarawak, Perak and Kelantan.

Meanwhile, Labuan recorded two Covid-19 deaths. Sabah, Melaka, Terengganu and Penang recorded one death respectively.

From that amount, the oldest patient who succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic was a 96-year-old woman from Kelantan.

“She passed away at the Raja Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu and she had hypertension,” he said.

Meanwhile, the youngest death yesterday was recorded in Kuala Lumpur involving a 24-year-old man. He passed away at the Canselor Tuanku Mukhriz Hospital. He also suffered from asthma and obesity.

From the 82 deaths, two of them were non-citizens.

Meanwhile, there was also a reduction in the number of Covid-19 clusters with 23 clusters compared to 30 yesterday.

16 of the clusters detected today are related to work place, six are from the community, meanwhile, one cluster is high risk cluster.

Dr. Noor Hisham said, 1,635 clusters have ended and there are currently 726 active clusters in the country. – MalaysiaGazette
