KUALA LUMPUR – 102 Covid-19 deaths were recorded today. According to the Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, from that amount, 97 were citizens while the rest were non-citizens.

“102 deaths today involved 46 cases in Selangor, 16 cases at the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, 14 cases in Negeri Sembilan, seven cases in Pahang, six cases in Johor, three cases each in Kedah and Melaka, two cases each in Sabah and Penang and one case each in Kelantan, Perak and Sarawak,” Noor Hisham said.

8,534 Covid-19 positive cases were recorded today encompassed of 7,087 citizens and 1,447 non-citizens.

From that amount, 40 cases were imported involving 36 citizens and 4 non-citizens.

Meanwhile, 5,041 cases have recovered from Covid-19, shifting the cumulative recoveries to 747,338 cases.

964 cases are currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while 452 required respiratory support.

There are currently 91,272 active cases in the country.

At the same time, Noor Hisham said that the Covid-19 transmission rate is on a rising trend.

Based on the latest data on 11 July 2021, the Rt value in Malaysia ia 1.15 compared to 1.13 on Saturday.

“The state that recorded the highest Rt value is the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Rt 1.31). Meanwhile, other states that recorded Rt of above 1.0 are Selangor (Rt 1.18), Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (Rt 1.17), Kedah (Rt 1.17), Pahang (Rt 1.14).

“Sabah (Rt 1.08), Melaka (Rt 1.08), Terengganu (Rt 1.08), Perak (Rt 1.07), Penang (Rt 1.05), Negeri Sembilan (Rt 1.02) and Johor (Rt 1.02),” added Noor Hisham.

On a relevant development, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has detected 16 new clusters; eight community clusters, five workplace clusters and three high-risk group clusters.

The Community Clusters are namely the Kampung Pulau Kundur Cluster with 12 cases, Jalan Dusun Langgar Cluster (14), Lorong Kubur Maras Cluster (15), Tanjung Gelam Cluster (20), Tok Molor Cluster (13), Rantau Kesidang Cluster (29), Ketior Dalam Cluster (14) and Kampung Kendaie Cluster (23 cases).

The Workplace Clusters include Sepang Resort Cluster (13), Jalan Utas Industry Cluster (35), Jalan Cendana Construction Site Cluster (11), Lorong Sentosa Satu Cluster (10) and Putrajaya 15 Cluster (24 kes).

The three high-risk group clusters are Bayam Tiga Cluster (9), Taman Utama Satu Cluster (8) and Seksyen 14 Jalan Bayam Cluster with 10 cases. – MalaysiaGazette
