BUKIT MERTAJAM – Snooping factory worker’s dorm before breaking in the next day to rape and rob.
That is the modus operandi of a garbage truck driver who was involved in five cases of robbery and rape around the Seberang Perai Tengah district for the past few months.
However, the revolting act of the 26-years-old suspect was exposed after the police arrested him in Bukit Tengah last Tuesday.
MalaysiaGazette was told that the suspect was arrested at 6.20 pm after the police received a report from a Myanmar national factory worker who became the victim of the suspect on the same day.
Based on the report, the 23-years-old victim was asleep in her rented residence at Taman Inderawasih with her friends before the suspect woke her up at 4.00 am.
The naked suspect held a knife at her neck and ordered her to be quiet before raping her and ran off with RM200 in cash and her social visit passport.
Based on police intelligence, the police had arrested the suspect and further checks found that he was involved in at least five similar cases using the same modus operandi.
The suspect would spy on the factory workers’ residence while he pass by the housing area to collect rubbish during the day.
Following that, he would enter the targeted house at night on the same day to determine his route and then, trespass the house again the following day.
Besides that, the suspect would also get into his action under the influence of drugs as his urine test found that he was positive of the illegal substance.
The suspect has several previous break-in and drugs related records. He is remanded for six days beginning today until 18 October to assist in the investigation.
Meanwhile, the Penang Deputy Chief of Police, Datuk Fisol Salleh verified the incident and the arrest of the suspect. -MalaysiaGazette
