KUALA LUMPUR – Category 1 Covid-19 patients who are asymptomatic, have mild symptoms and are not under high-risk need not go to the Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CAC).

However, Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said that they are required to perform daily self-monitoring via the Health Assessment Tool (HAT) in their MySejahtera mobile application.

“Short Messaging Services (SMS) or automated voice recording (robocall) will be sent sound if you do not perform self-monitoring via MySejahtera,” he said during a news conference today.

On another development, Khairy said that all Health Clinics (KK) nationwide have been reactivated in preparation to receive high volume of patients.

He said, there are 370 CAC in KK and in the community that are operating to conduct health evaluation for Covid-19 positive patients.

Besides that, the District Health Offices (PKD) will always identify the KK suitable and community halls to increase the number of CAC to support the increment of Covid-19 cases if needed.

He added, the MOH also recommended for the private health facilities to act as private CAC.

“CAC functions to identify patients who fulfil the criteria for home surveillance, assessment and monitor the patients’ development throughout their quarantine period.

“Besides that, it also identifies and coordinate the patients who need to be referred to the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) or the hospital, and run assessment for the release of positive cases that have completed their isolation,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
