SEGAMAT – A banner with provocative wordings that violated the campaign regulation was found in Segamat this morning as we entered the fourth day of Johor State Election campaign.

The white banner was tied on the billboard with the President of Perikatan Nasional, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s picture.

The banner read, ‘Abah bagus, tapi bodoh hantar calon orang kampung, X suka’ (Abah is good, but stupid for sending candidates that villagers X like) was hung at the traffic light junction. It has invited controversies and attracted the attention of motorists at the area.

Based on the observation by MalaysiaGazette around Taman Yayasan within the Buloh Kasap State Assembly at 10.00 am today, a team of Campaign Enforcers from the Election Commission (EC) was at the location.

Four members from the observation team were at the area, removing the banner along with the police officers.

MalaysiaGazette was told that the EC enforcers arrived at the location after receiving complaints and conducted a preliminary investigation.

Following that, a report was made at the Buloh Kasap Police Station at 10.40 a.m. this morning.

Meanwhile, the Segamat District Police Chief, Superintendent Baharin Mohd Noh verified the incident upon contact, however, he refused to comment further.

Investigation is ongoing. -MalaysiaGazette
