KUALA LUMPUR – The new Covid-19 cases dropped two days in a row with 26,865 cases being recorded yesterday, shifting the cumulative cases in the country to 3,649,463.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the Ministry of Health (MOH) recorded 30,726 recoveries yesterday, with a cumulative Covid-19 recoveries of 3,311,854 to date.

368 cases required treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) with 153 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 215 cases were suspected to be Covid-19 or under investigation. Meanhwhile, 223 cases required respiratory support with 81 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 142 were suspected to be Covid-19 or under investigation.

On the breakdown of new cases, 10,160 cases were under Category 1, 16,508 cases were category 2, 81 cases were category 3, 57 cases were category 4 and 50 cases were category 5.

“From the 188 category 3, 4 and 5 new Covid-19 cases reported yesterday, 63 were unvaccinated or did not complete their vaccination, 80 cases received two doses of vaccine but had not receive their booster dose. 45 cases have received their booster dose.

“103 cases were aged 60 years old and above, 83 cases had comorbidity and three cases were pregnant women,” he said in a statement today.

On the Covid-19 cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said that there were eight new clusters and 445 active clusters in the country. Meanwhile, 6,404 Covid-19 clusters have ended. -MalaysiaGazette
