KUALA LUMPUR – The Chairman of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang), Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad revealed that the President of Bersatu, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd. Yassin met him two weeks ago to get his support to become the Prime Minister (PM) again.

According to him, he could not give any reaction for the request because Muhyiddin betrayed him when he led the country in 2018 to 2019.

“Muhyiddin met me and wanted my support in his attempt to become the Prime Minister again.

“He asked for support. He knows Pejuang lost in the election. We are not strong. We have no money but he asked us to support him.

“I don’t know what to say, I could not become the Prime Minister because of Muhyiddin. Now, he is asking for help from the person he stabbed on the back but did not die,” Mahathir said cynically during a news conference after a meeting with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Foundation today.

Mahathir added, Muhyiddin was not a good Prime Minister after taking over the country’s administration from him.

According to the Member of Parliament of Langkawi, Muhyiddin would not need his help to become the Prime Minister again if he led the government successfully.

“When he was the Prime Minister, most people were not satisfied with his leadership. He was not a good Prime Minister. That’s why, nobody wanted him again.

“If he could achieve something for Malaysia, I am sure that he would not need my help to win,” he said.

However, when asked if there would be any form of cooperation with Bersatu in the coming election, Mahathir said, Pejuang has not made any decision.

According to him, Pejuang will work with any party that rejects corruption.

“We haven’t decided. We will work with parties that are against corruption. They need to make clear declaration that they are against corruption and they will not contest by giving money to the voters,” he said. – MalaysiaGazette
