KUALA LUMPUR – The number of new Covid-19 cases continued to drop two days consecutively, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the number of cases reported yesterday (11 Apr) reduced to 7,739 cases compared to 8,112 cases two days ago.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries exceeded the number of new cases with 19,049 Covid-19 patients recovered from the disease yesterday, shifting the cumulative recoveries to 4,163,777 cases.

According to him, the MOH also reported that 427 Covid-19 cases were admitted into the hospital, with 187 cases under Category 3, 4 and 5, and 240 cases for Category 1 and 2.

Besides that, the MOH said that 23 cases were imported yesterday involving 22 citizens and one non-citizens.

However, 7,715 local infection cases comprised of 7,414 citizens and 302 non-citizens.

174 cases required treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where 75 cases were verified Covid-19 and 102 cases required respiratory support.

Dr Noor Hisham said, from the 7,739 daily cases reported, 4,354 were under Category 1; 3,318 cases were under Category 2; 34 cases were under Category 3; 14 cases were under Category 4 and 19 cases were under Category 5. -MalaysiaGazette
