KUALA LUMPUR – Rumours about the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali jumping party were merely cheap propaganda.
The Political Secretary of Azmin, Muhammad Hilman Idham rubbished the reports today.
“Those are merely cheap propaganda,” he said briefly to MalaysiaGazette today.
Hilman, who is also the State Assemblyman of Gombak Setia gave the answer when asked to comment on a news report about Mohamed Azmin and the Member of Parliament of Batu Pahat, Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon hopping party.
The duo were rumoured to be following the tracks of Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and will be joining Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), ditching Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Meanwhile, the Supreme Council of Bersatu, Datuk Rosol Wahid denied the allegation and said that Mohamed Azmin is still attending the party’s meetings, unlike Zuraida, who failed to attend the Supreme Council meeting four times.
On 26 May, Zuraida announced her resignation from Bersatu and stated her wish to join PBM. On 9 June, she was appointed as the President Designate of PBM and will be leading the party to discuss about forming coalition with other parties to face the 15th General Election (GE15). -MalaysiaGazette
