KUALA LUMPUR – The Covid-19 death toll continued to rise and 126 victims had succumbed to the outbreak today.

With the latest development the Covid-19 death tally has rose close to 3,000 cases.

2,993 deaths have been recorded in the country since the disease first hit the country in February last year. Most of the patients were 60 years-old and above and had other comorbidities.

The number of patients currently under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is also alarming. At the moment, 878 patients are in the ICU and 441 of them required respiratory support.

On the other hand, 5,777 patients have recovered from the disease, a drop from 6,083 patients yesterday, shifting the total number of Covid-19 patients recovering from the disease to 501,898 cases.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health reported 7,703 new Covid-19 positive cases, shifting the cumulative Covid-19 score in the country to 587,165 cases.

From that amount, 7,701 cases were local infections, meanwhile, two cases were imported. –MalaysiaGazette
