KUALA LUMPUR – Former Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin verified that he was infected by Covid-19.

According to him, he realised that he was positive of Covid-19 after performing the Real-Time Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test.

“Alhamdullillah (Praise Allah), I only experience mild symptoms and I am well.

“According to the protocols of the Ministry of Health (MOH), I will undergo home quarantine,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin chaired the National Recovery Council (MPN) meeting at Putrajaya.

The meeting was attended by Cabinet ministers such as Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar; Finance Minister, Senator Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali; Senior Minister of Education, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin; Senior Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Tan Sri Noh Omar and the Minister at Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

The meeting suggested for the government to fully reopen its national borders as early as 1 March without the mandatory quarantine.

Meanwhile, Muhyiddin also advised his close contacts to undergo home quarantine.

“To those who could have been my close contacts, I advise you to comply with the protocols determined by the MOH. Please pray for my health, and the health of my family,” said Muhyiddin. -MalaysiaGazette
