KUALA LUMPUR – The police are still in the process of completing the investigation paper on the sexual harassment case implicating celebrity Islamic Preacher, Ebit Lew.

The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director, Datuk Seri Abd. Jalil said, they are completing the investigation on the reports lodged in the Peninsular of Malaysia on Ebit, or his real name, Ebit Irawan Lew Ibrahim Lew.

According to him, the investigation includes tracking the witnesses on the allegations.

“We are not sure when he will be charged. We are still investigating,” he said briefly when contacted today.

Ebit, 37, was charged at Tenom, Sabah on 17 February with sexual harassment.

However, he pleaded not guilty to all 11 counts of sexual harassment charges against him and claimed trial.

The court fixed 20 until 23 April for documents submission, meanwhile, he will be trialled in June 2022.

Ebit is facing charges for sending lewd pictures and messages to outrage the modesty of a person through WhatsApp.

All charges allegedly took place in the Tenom district of Sabah between March and June 2021 on a Malay woman. -MalaysiaGazette
