KUALA LUMPUR – The daily Covid-19 cases continue to exceed the 2,000 mark with the latest 2,341 daily cases recorded today.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the increment of daily cases shifted the cumulative Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 379,473 cases.

He said, from that amount, Sarawak recorded the highest daily Covid-19 cases with 600 cases, followed by Selangor (539 cases) and Kelantan (429 cases).

Besides that, Kuala Lumpur recorded 344 cases, Johor 102 cases, Penang 92 cases, Sabah 82 cases, Kedah 44 cases, Perak 34 cases, Melaka 19 cases and 17 cases each in Pahang and Negeri Sembilan while Terengganu recorded 15 cases.

“Three cases were reported each in Perlis and Putrajaya. Meanwhile, only one case was reported in Labuan today,” he said in a Facebook post today.

On a relevant development, Dr Noor Hisham said that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has detected 15 new Covid-19 clusters and nine of them involved work place while six were community related clusters.

He said, the new clusters were detected in Kelantan, Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Terengganu and Kedah.

Dr Noor Hisham said, 1,500 clusters have been detected nationwide. 73 out of the 346 active clusters recorded increment of cases.

On the other hand, 10 clusters have ended today, namely, the  Kampung Padang Tembak, Sungai Puloh, Jalan Laksamana, Kuala Punteh, Bukit Petiti, Hulu Jerocco, Jalan Vista Construction Site, Kiba, Bukit Tunggal and Jasmine Empat clusters. Thus, to date, 1,154 Covid-19 clusters have ended in the country.

Jalan Kempas Satu cluster suffered the highest hike in new cases with 81 cases. This was followed by Abak Bon (77 cases) and Telok Mas (45 cases). -MalaysiaGazette
